This is why I like to get up early in the morning. The sunrise is so pretty coming through the trees to light up the backyard.
As the sun sets in the late afternoon, it gives a beautiful warm glow to the opposite side of the backyard.
Artist, Barbara Cocks, is a Virginia native and has lived in Lynchburg most of her life. She has been married to her husband Phillip for 50 yrs. and is the proud mother of a son and daughter and grandmother of three grandsons.
Barbara has had a long time desire to learn to paint. Her interest was encouraged after taking classes with a local instructor. Retirement has allowed the time to further pursue her love of acrylic and oil painting and photography. She has a great appreciation for God’s creation and its beauty and she strives to capture it on canvas and in photos. When she is not painting, she is in the garden working with her many flowers and always has her camera ready for that special photo. Her “backyard photography” includes everything from flowers to wildlife to sunsets and rainbows.
She has exhibited at the Lynchburg Kaleidoscope Art Show, Beyond These Hills Gallery, The Bower Center in Bedford, Seven Hills Art Club at the Lynchburg Parks and Recreation Miller Center, The Framery, Lynchburg Community Market, The Dancing Leaf and the Rustburg Art Show and has been recognized with various awards.

Early morning is my favorite time in the garden, too! Just something very spiritual about it for me ;)
